Poes

From a very young age, his universe developed around comics, literature and cinema.
Graffiti came up originally less as an artistic gesture than a social statement, but soon
proved to be a foundation stone. An active member of an art collective, Poes has, since
2004, travelled the world creating increasingly huge murals. He looks at this work as a
positive effort to challenge the grey dullness around and to promote a democratic
approach to painting through working on the city itself, by removing art from its
institutional framework. And by incorporating art into a new global vision of urbanism
without ever forgetting the necessary cultural outreach and exchanges with citizens.
