As part of the Rencontres Urbaines de Nancy, the Artivista association had the honor of leading a participatory mural project at the Maison des Femmes de Nancy, alongside Aurélie Andrès and Lucie Fléty, as part of the RUN Festival (Rencontres Urbaines de Nancy).
A vital center for welcoming, listening to, and supporting women who are victims of violence, the Maison des Femmes de Nancy is a space for protection, healing, and empowerment. It was within this deeply human and meaningful context that the L’Envol project was born.
From March 27 to April 10, 2026, two murals came to life on the walls of the center:
An exterior mural, visible from the street, conveying a message of openness, resilience, and strength.
An interior mural, designed as an intimate and soothing space, created in collaboration with the women sheltered at the center.

This project was built on a deeply collaborative approach:
- The artists conceived and guided the creative process, focusing on symbols of courage, renewal, and gentleness.
- The women of the Maison des Femmes actively participated in bringing these works to life, imbuing every detail with their personal touch, their stories, and their colors.
Over time, these shared creative moments went beyond mere artistic expression. They helped forge connections, open up spaces for expression, and foster a genuine sense of ownership of the space.
Beyond the murals, L’Envol carries a strong ambition: to bring visibility to a vital space, to highlight the strength and journeys of the women who pass through it, and to open up prospects for rebuilding, solidarity, and hope.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this project possible
- To the Maison des Femmes de Nancy for its trust and hospitality.
- To the City of Nancy and the teams at Rencontres Urbaines de Nancy for their support.
- To artists Aurélie Andrès and Lucie Fléty for their commitment, talent, and sensitivity.
- To our partner Unikalo for its invaluable support.
- And to all these women from here and elsewhere, whose strength, journeys, and voices inspire us every
