The first part of the project, which took place from September 15 to 24, 2021, was part of our France-Colombia exchange, for which we invited three Colombian artists (Lili Luca, Mugre Diamante, and SEPC) to come to Seine-Saint-Denis to paint alongside three French artists (Zdey and the EvazéSir collective). The second part took place in Colombia in 2022, where the whole team met up on the Caribbean coast.
“It’s done. And so beautifully done!”
That’s what the people of Saint-Denis told us—residents and workers in the neighborhood, students from the IUT and CFA, young people and children from elsewhere, Artivista partners… Because, in just two weeks, as planned, our artists have created more than 800 square meters of murals. Three Colombian and three French muralists worked hand in hand, with the efficient help of CFA apprentices, IUT students, and volunteers. Together, they created worlds full of magic and color straight out of their imaginations, which now give this neighborhood near Place du 8 Mai 1945 a unique character.
As were the workshops with families, children, and teenagers, which are always so popular. And like the lunches we usually share to exchange ideas in a spirit of good humor and joy.
